untitled, unknown is a collaborative visual project by Sandi Bache and Mat Larimer that explores liminality as both subject and structure. The work positions the exhibition space as a waiting room in the final moments before departure—an intermediate zone just as clarity begins to arrive.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, the project embraces transition, change, and partial knowing. Visual elements operate as implements of change, suggesting movement and transformation without prescribing outcome. In this way, the work resists closure and instead foregrounds the experience of becoming.

Drawing from the metaphor of metamorphosis, untitled, unknown reflects on transformation as a shared, often unknowable process. If change and transformation or constant events in life then life is not before and after a transformative period but rather all encompassing. The project employs viewers to dwell in uncertainty, to attend to the space between states, and to recognize the generative potential of conversation, connection, and collaboration.
